On August 9, 2006 we discovered a bug associated with printing digit 5, even parity barcode -
The font character B contains an incorrect encoding pattern. The digit 5 at even parity and at the extension barcode maps to this character. This bug does not affect main barcodes. The bug affects all extension barcodes which have the digit 5 appears on the second or the fourth digit, such as "05", "25" and "12150".
Some scanners have some fault tolerance built-in so they read the faulty barcodes. This was the reason that the issue escaped the testing.
We recommend that all users upgrade to the current version - V3.0.5, released on Aug. 6, 2006. Existing customers can download here.
