WinXP Setting affecting Barcode Fonts
And, possibly Win2000 as well.
Recent windows operating systems include support for smoothing the edges of fonts to make them more readable. It certainly helps those "jagged" human readable fonts.
However, this setting can have a negative impact when printing barcode fonts, especially 2-D fonts like data matrix. Therefore, you should disable font smoothing as follows:
Open Display from Control Panel. (Start, Control Panel, Display)
Go to Appearance tab.
Click on the Effects button.
Disable the option
